Alachua County getting closer to 70 percent flu vaccination rate for students

Thanks to the help of Dr. Parker Small, and the rest of the Control Flu team, Alachua County has increased the amount of students who were vaccinated to 61 percent, which is coming closer toward the program’s goal of 70 percent.

Alachua County has a much lower rate of flu-based emergency room visits among children and teens than anywere else in the country thanks to the FluMist vaccination program. Read more about the program’s success in an article published by the Gainesville Sun.
