Research Day 2016
The Emerging Pathogens Institute hosted its ninth annual Research Day on Thursday, February 18, 2016.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Emerging Pathogens Institute hosted its ninth annual Research Day on Thursday, February 18, 2016. Hundreds of students, faculty, and other members of the UF community came to view presentations on topics ranging from HIV replication in the body tissues of patients undergoing combined anti-retroviral therapy (cART) to how statistical models can show the role socioeconomic status played in influencing the mortality outcomes of subjects who contracted the 1918 Spanish flu.
Visitors perused poster presentations on the first floor and the fourth floor of the Cancer/Genetics Research Complex (CGRC). The presenters mingled among themselves as well, learning about the research achievements of their colleagues.
Following the poster sessions, students, faculty, Florida Department of Health officials, and others crowded into the CGRC auditorium to listen to speeches given by the keynote speakers.
