Finding Paths Through Theory and Data to Valid Inferences
May 29, 2019: James S. Koopman, MD, MPH will talk about strategies for insuring the validity of either scientific inferences or public action inferences about complex systems such as infection transmission systems or ecological systems generating harmful algae blooms. In particular, he will present a strategy for insuring that inferences are not invalidated due to either model misspecification or due to lack of identifiability of the inference sought given the data being analyzed.
