Find a mentor. Find volunteer opportunities. Get involved!

EPI nurtures growing minds

EPI wants to involve undergraduate and graduate students in our research program wherever possible. Students seeking mentors are encouraged to use the Faculty Profiles and Faculty Members resources to search for researchers or topics they are interested in, and they are encouraged to fill out the Student Volunteer Requests Form for more information regarding mentoring opportunities related to their research interests.

Students are encouraged to:

Attend EPI’s Seminar Series.

  • Bookmark our site, check it frequently and attend subjects that interest you.

Attend EPI's annual Research Day.

  • An outreach program that provides interested students an opportunity to display their research projects in a poster presentation format. Mingle with relevant faculty and meet other students interested in emerging pathogens. Check the news section of our website for announcements about EPI Research Day.

Sign up for EPI’s Associate Member Mailing List.

  • Dedicated just for students, list-serve subscribers will be kept informed of training opportunities and, when available, short-term training grants. It’s a great way to get connected and stay informed.

Inquire about volunteer opportunities.

  • Students interested in gaining research experience or other volunteer opportunities with EPI investigators are encouraged to fill out the Student Volunteer Requests Form.
