Purpose: To maximize efficiency and success when supporting institutional members and leadership in events extraneous to institution-sponsored events.

The University of Florida Emerging Pathogens Institute administration team is available to support institutional members and leadership in events that advance the EPI mission by facilitating infectious disease and pathogenic research, education, and outreach. Event proposals must come from institutional members to receive potential support from the administration team. In addition, simply requesting an event does not guarantee full support from the administration team, depending on event type, team bandwidth, etc.

All event support requests must be made before scheduling speakers and arranging travel to ensure the availability of staff to assist with day-of event management. Furthermore, no event requests can be made three weeks before or after an EPI-sponsored event. That includes, but is not limited to, EPI Research Day and the EPI Town Hall. If the EPI administration team cannot support your event, members are encouraged to seek assistance from their home departments and colleges.

To ensure the success of any event that receives support from the EPI administration team, all event communications must include the EPI Project Manager and the EPI Communications Manager. Event communications include, but are not limited to, location changes, schedule changes, and speaker changes. Promotion of the event does not take precedence over institutional digital marketing, so please heed the communications team’s advice on how to best implement your requests into event promotion.
