The Emerging Pathogens Institute has phased out listservs in favor of digital marketing software for email marketing purposes. EPI listservs are either suspended or delegated by EPI administration for specific purposes. There will be two main types of communications distributed: a newsletter and a bulletin. The newsletter will be distributed to all subscribers (internal to UF and external to UF); the bulletin will only be distributed to UF internal subscribers. If you are internal to UF, signing up for our mailing list will automatically sign you up to our internal list.
In addition to email marketing, the EPI offers event submissions that appear on a calendar displayed on the website’s homepage. The institute also has social media accounts and digital signage within the building that can help disseminate information.
Submission preferences are made for EPI members and those affiliated with an EPI member, including but not limited to students, postdoctoral researchers, center collaborators, publication co-authors, etc. Any content submitted must align with the EPI’s mission and vision. All content submitted to the EPI is subject to review and approval.
Digital Signage
The EPI building has televisions on all four floors. To appear on the building’s digital signage, requests must be submitted at least 5 business days prior to the event to ensure posting upon approval. All graphics must be 1980 pixels wide by 1020 pixels high.
EPI Exchange
EPI Exchange will serve as the institute’s biweekly newsletter. It will publish on the first and third Friday of every month, starting February 4, 2022. Key content includes research highlights, relevant articles, honorable recognitions and field/lab work. For content to be considered, it must be submitted no later than the preceding Wednesday. To illustrate, content published on the first Friday of the month must be submitted by the first Wednesday of the month, and content published on the third Friday of the month must be submitted by the third Wednesday of the month. Anything submitted after will be published in the following newsletter. Relevant content submitted into News and Notes will be added to EPI Exchange as seen fit.
EPI News and Notes
News and Notes will serve as the institute’s weekly bulletin. It will publish every Monday, excluding UF holidays. Any relevant news, seminars, events, conferences, etc., can be submitted for publication in the bulletin. For content to be considered, it must be submitted for publication no later than the preceding Thursday. Anything submitted after will be published in the following bulletin. Items submitted to News and Notes can be open for consideration in EPI Exchange. To ensure submission into our newsletter (upon approval), also submit to EPI Exchange.
Events Calendar
The EPI events calendar appears on the institute’s website homepage. To appear on the calendar, requests must be submitted at least 5 business days before the event to ensure posting upon approval.
Social Media
The EPI has five social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. If you have content that you would like to appear on one of our main accounts, you are welcome to tag us or submit a request to our communications team. To maintain brand standards and platform performance, the communications team cannot approve every request, but will find ways to help support your promotion efforts. Social media requests must be submitted at least 5 business days in advance to ensure posting upon approval.
